New kind of Breast Cancer (email)

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing. Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass. A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health. She had one year of living each day to its fullest.!

Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. Before she died, she left this message::::::

Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible. Paget's Disease: This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole. It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was. My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that.

Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn't bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.

Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer. Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole. One of the biggest problems with Paget's disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless. It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.

What are the symptoms?
1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn. (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)

2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal. (Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).

3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed? Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately. Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast. Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.

Dengue Fever FAQ (email)

What is dengue fever?

Dengue fever is a disease caused by the dengue virus which can be transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito. These mosquitoes bite during the day, but are usually more active at dusk and dawn. The incubation period of dengue fever normally ranges from between 3 to 14 days.

What is dengue haemorrhagic fever?

Dengue haemorrhagic fever is a more severe form of dengue and can be fatal if unrecognized or not treated.

How is dengue fever and dengue haemorrhagic fever spread?

Dengue is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are infected when they take a blood meal from a dengue-infectedperson and then after about a week can transmit the virus while biting a healthy person.

Can dengue be spread from person to person?

Dengue fever cannot be spread directly from person to person. It is only spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.

What are the common symptoms of dengue fever and dengue haemorrhagic fever?

Dengue fever is characterized by the sudden onset of fever, (which can last up to 7 days) and is accompanied by intense headache, body aches, joint pains, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and the development of skin rashes. A blood test will often show low platelets.

Dengue haemorrhagic fever presents similarly to dengue fever but is associated with more severe bleeding problems (e.g. gum bleeding, nose bleeding and bleeding into the skin and internal organs) along with evidence of plasma leakage

Is there any treatment for dengue or dengue haemorrhagic fever?

There is no specific treatment for dengue or dengue haemorrhagic fever. However, supportive care with intravenous fluids and frequent blood test monitoring reduces complications of the disease. In severe cases, blood transfusions may be required.

Can dengue fever or dengue haemorrhagic fever lead to death?

Yes. Death can occur in a small minority of persons especially if the infection is not recognized early or early treatment is not sought

How can dengue fever be prevented?

Dengue fever can be prevented through measures to prevent mosquito breeding around the house and to protect against mosquito bites. Precautions include wearing long-sleeved clothes, using mosquito coils and electric vapor mats, and using insect repellent over the exposed parts of the body.

Adoption of good daily habits such as clearing blockages from the roof gutter, clearing leaves and stagnant water from drains, removing water from potted plants daily, avoiding the use of pot plates and changing the water in vases everyday will also help to eliminate the chances of mosquito breeding.

Is there a vaccination against dengue?

There is currently no vaccine available that can prevent dengue.

Will I have immunity against dengue if I was once infected?

A person who was previously infected with dengue will only gain immunity for the particular virus serotype.

There are a total of 4 serotypes of the dengue virus.

Will I have to be hospitalized if I come down with dengue fever?

Hospitalization is recommended for patients who have severe symptoms, and for patients with signs (eg, low platelet counts) that may lead to haemorrhage (internal bleeding).

My neighbor is down with dengue fever, what should I do to protect my family?

The best protection against dengue is to guard against mosquito bites and to ensure no mosquitoes are breeding in your home. (Also refer to the question above on how dengue fever can be prevented.)

Importance Of Having Breakfast (email)

Breakfast can help prevent strokes, heart attack and sudden death. Advice on not to skip breakfast!

Tips for healthy living
For those who always skip breakfast, you should start kicking that habit now! You've heard many times that "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day".

Now, recent research confirms that one of the worst practices you can develop may be avoiding breakfast.

Why?

Because the frequency of heart attack, sudden death, and stroke peaks between 6:00a.m. and noon, with the highest incidence being between 8:00a.m.and 10:00a.m.What mechanism within the body could account for this significant jump in sudden death in the early morning hours?

We may have an answer .........

Platelet, tiny elements in the blood that keep us from bleeding to Death if we get a cut, can clump together inside our arteries due to cholesterol or laque buildup in the artery lining. It is in the morning hours that platelets become the most activated and tend to form these internal blood clots at the greatest frequency.

However, eating even a very light breakfast prevents the morning platelet activation that is associated with heart attacks and strokes

Studies found that eating a light, very low-fat breakfast was critical in modifying
the morning platelet activation. Subjects in the study consumed either low-fat or fat-free yogurt, orange juice, fruit, and a source of protein coming from yogurt or fat-free milk.

So if you skip breakfast, it's important that you change this practice immediately in light of this research. Develop a simple plan to eat cereal, such as oatmeal or Bran Flakes ,along with six ounces of grape juice or orange juice, and perhaps a piece of fruit .

This simple plan will keep your platelets from sticking together, keep blood clots from forming, and perhaps head off a potential heart attack or stroke.

So never ever skip breakfast

Soya bean drink (email)

All of us know that Soya Bean drink provides good protein to our body but many of us do not know that there are certain days we should avoid on the drink.

Soya-Bean drinks are best consumed on hot sunny days where the sun is burning and glaring. The Soya milk gives lots of nutrients to the body, as the body is able to absorb the protein well.

However, avoid the drink when the weather is cloudy or raining.Taking the drink in this weather, the body will not be able to take in the protein thus will result in a disease called GOUT OR HIGH ACIDIC URINE due to the high protein residue in the body, after a long run.

This disease will cause pain to your knee joints and it will only be in control when you control your food intake of proteins and medications. The pain is unbearable and usually you will have no idea what you have taken to cause the pain. Food like Soya Beans, Ikan Billis, Peanuts, All type of Nuts & Beans and Animal organs (i.e: pork liver) etc will have to be avoided to prevent the pain from attacking.

So my friends pass this to your family, relatives and friends to keep an alert of the pros and cons of Soya-Bean milk and when it is to be taken and avoided.

Quick and Easy Diabetic Diet Tips (email)

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DIABETIC DIET.

I bet you're asking yourself, “What is this nut talking about? Of course, there is such a thing
as a diabetic diet! My grandmother's been on one for years…”

Well, you're not wrong about your grandmother. For generations, experts believed that people
with diabetes must follow a strict, no sweets, calorie-restricted diet to keep their blood
glucose levels under control.

But more recently, experts have come to realize that all that is really needed is that the person with diabetes follows the principles of a healthy diet.

So what does a healthy diet entail? In short, a healthy diet follows the rules of the Food Guide Pyramid.

This means you eat meals that:

• are moderate in complex carbohydrates, such as beans, vegetables, and grains

• are low in fat, especially saturated fat and cholesterol

• include protein, such as meat, poultry, fish, and tofu

• are high in fiber, which is in fresh vegetables and fruits as well as whole-grain breads and some cereals

• are low in sugary foods and sweets

• include only moderate amounts of alcohol

The great news is that eating healthy not only helps control diabetes. It also benefits you in many other ways, such as having a healthier heart, more energy, and losing weight!

So, if you have recently been told you have diabetes or prediabetes, you may need to learn how to eat differently if you want to stay healthy.

But anyone who wants to be healthy— whether they have diabetes or not— should follow these eating rules. It's just that it's even more important when you have diabetes.

Eye problems caused due to long hours in front of a computer (email)

This will save your eyes, as life is not worth living without the eyes. During a recent visit to an optician, one of my friends was told of an exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor in the US that he termed as 20-20-20."

It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks, looking at the computer screen. It helps you prevent eye problems caused due to long hours in front of a computer screen.

Step I:
After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II:
Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.

Step III:
Time permitting of course, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes of sitting in one particular posture. Helps blood Circulation for the entire body.

HAND, FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE (email)

What is hand, foot, and mouth disease?

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a common illness of infants and children. It is characterized by fever, sores in the mouth, and a rash with blisters. HFMD begins with a mild fever, poor appetite, malaise ("feeling sick"), and frequently a sore throat. One or 2 days after the fever begins, painful sores develop in the mouth. They begin as small red spots that blister and then often become ulcers. They are usually located on the tongue, gums, and inside of the cheeks. The skin rash develops over 1 to 2 days with flat or raised red spots, some with blisters. The rash does not itch, and it is usually located on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. It may also appear on the buttocks. A person with HFMD may have only the rash or the mouth ulcers.

Is HFMD the same as foot-and-mouth disease?

No. HFMD is often confused with foot-and-mouth disease of cattle, sheep, and swine. Although the names are similar, the two diseases are not related at all and are caused by different viruses.

What causes HFMD?

Viruses from the group called enteroviruses cause HFMD. The most common cause is coxsackievirus A16; sometimes, HFMD is caused by enterovirus 71 or other enteroviruses. The enterovirus group includes polioviruses, coxsackieviruses, echoviruses and other enteroviruses.
Is HFMD serious?

Usually not. HFMD caused by coxsackievirus A16 infection is a mild disease and nearly all patients recover without medical treatment in 7 to 10 days. Complications are uncommon. Rarely, the patient with coxsackievirus A16 infection may also develop "aseptic" or viral meningitis, in which the person has fever, headache, stiff neck, or back pain, and may need to be hospitalized for a few days. Another cause of HFMD, EV71 may also cause viral meningitis and, rarely, more serious diseases, such as encephalitis, or a poliomyelitis-like paralysis. EV71 encephalitis may be fatal. Cases of fatal encephalitis occurred during outbreaks of HFMD in Malaysia in 1997 and in Taiwan in 1998.

Is HFMD contagious?

Yes, HFMD is moderately contagious. Infection is spread from person to person by direct contact with nose and throat discharges, saliva, fluid from blisters, or the stool of infected persons. A person is most contagious during the first week of the illness. HFMD is not transmitted to or from pets or other animals.

How soon will someone become ill after getting infected?

The usual period from infection to onset of symptoms ("incubation period") is 3 to 7 days. Fever is often the first symptom of HFMD.

Who is at risk for HFMD?

HFMD occurs mainly in children under 10 years old, but may also occur in adults too. Everyone is at risk of infection, but not everyone who is infected becomes ill. Infants, children, and adolescents are more likely to be susceptible to infection and illness from these viruses, because they are less likely than adults to have antibodies and be immune from previous exposures to them. Infection results in immunity to the specific virus, but a second episode may occur following infection with a different member of the enterovirus group.

What are the risks to pregnant women exposed to children with HFMD?

Because enteroviruses, including those causing HFMD, are very common, pregnant women are frequently exposed to them, especially during summer and fall months. As for any other adults, the risk of infection is higher for pregnant women who do not have antibodies from earlier exposures to these viruses, and who are exposed to young children - the primary spreaders of enteroviruses.

Most enterovirus infections during pregnancy cause mild or no illness in the mother. Although the available information is limited, currently there is no clear evidence that maternal enteroviral infection causes adverse outcomes of pregnancy such as abortion, stillbirth, or congenital defects. However, mothers infected shortly before delivery may pass the virus to the newborn. Babies born to mothers who have symptoms of enteroviral illness around the time of delivery are more likely to be infected. Most newborns infected with an enterovirus have mild illness, but, in rare cases, they may develop an overwhelming infection of many organs, including liver and heart, and die from the infection. The risk of this severe illness in newborns is higher during the first two weeks of life.

Strict adherence to generally recommended good hygienic practices by the pregnant woman (see "Can HFMD be prevented?" below) may help to decrease the risk of infection during pregnancy and around the time of delivery.

When and where does HFMD occur?

Individual cases and outbreaks of HFMD occur worldwide, more frequently in summer and early autumn. In the recent past, major outbreaks of HFMD attributable to enterovirus 71 have been reported in some South East Asian countries (Malaysia, 1997; Taiwan, 1998).

How is HFMD diagnosed?

HFMD is one of many infections that result in mouth sores. Another common cause is oral herpesvirus infection, which produces an inflammation of the mouth and gums (sometimes called stomatitis). Usually, the physician can distinguish between HFMD and other causes of mouth sores based on the age of the patient, the pattern of symptoms reported by the patient or parent, and the appearance of the rash and sores on examination. A throat swab or stool specimen may be sent to a laboratory to determine which enterovirus caused the illness. Since the testing often takes 2 to 4 weeks to obtain a final answer, the physician usually does not order these tests.

How is HFMD treated?

No specific treatment is available for this or other enterovirus infections. Symptomatic treatment is given to provide relief from fever, aches, or pain from the mouth ulcers.

Can HFMD be prevented?

Specific prevention for HFMD or other non-polio enterovirus infections is not available, but the risk of infection can be lowered by good hygienic practices. Preventive measures include frequent handwashing, especially after diaper changes, cleaning of contaminated surfaces and soiled items first with soap and water, and then disinfecting them by diluted solution of chlorine-containing bleach (made by mixing approximately ¼ cup of bleach with 1 gallon of water.

Avoidance of close contact (kissing, hugging, sharing utensils, etc.) with children with HFMD may also help to reduce of the risk of infection to caregivers.

HMFD in the childcare setting

HFMD outbreaks in child care facilities occur most often in the summer and fall months, and usually coincide with an increased number of cases in the community. CDC has no specific recommendations regarding the exclusion of children with HFMD from child care programs, schools, or other group settings. Children are often excluded from group settings during the first few days of the illness, which may reduce the spread of infection, but will not completely interrupt it. Exclusion of ill persons may not prevent additional cases since the virus may be excreted for weeks after the symptoms have disappeared. Also, some persons excreting the virus, including most adults, may have no symptoms. Some benefit may be gained, however, by excluding children who have blisters in their mouths and drool or who have weeping lesions on their hands.

If an outbreak occurs in the child care setting:

Make sure that all children and adults use good handwashing technique, especially after diaper changes. Thoroughly wash and disinfect contaminated items and surfaces using diluted solution of chlorine-containing bleach.

ADVICE GIVEN UPON PATIENT’S DISCHARGE

“Your child has been diagnosed to have hand-foot-mouth disease. This disease is normally not dangerous but in the light of recent events, we advise that you bring back your child to this hospital if he / she has any of the following symptoms:

• High fever.
• Lethargy and weakness.
• Refusing feeds and passing less urine.
• Rapid breathing.
• Vomiting.
• Drowsiness or irritably.
• Fits.”

TREATMENT & PREVENTION

Currently there is no specific cure for HFMD. Treatment is only symptomatic. Hence, prevention is very important. The viral infection can be prevented through:

• Practising good personal hygiene susch as washing hands with soap and clean water after going to toilet, before preparing food, after changing diapers and after handling stool soiled material.
• Covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
• Washing toys and other surfaces which are contaminated with saliva.
• Keeping away young children from crowded public places like market, supermarket, shopping complexes, bus stations, swimming pools etc.
• Sending children with symptoms of enteroviral infection to hospital or clinic; not to send them to kindergartens, school and other child-care center as the virus can be spread to other children.
• Closing kindergartens and nurseries if there is a case of HFMD or suspected death due to enteroviral infection at the center.
• Disinfection of kindergarten and nurseries before they are re-opened.
• Closing the public swimming pools during the peak of the outbreak.
• Keeping house and its surroundings clean to avoid flies, cockcroaches and rats.
• Cleaning oneself when return from work or outdoors before handling babies and small children.

HELP for Stroke (email)

STROKE IDENTIFICATION:

During a BBQ, a lady stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, she
went about enjoying herself the rest of the afternoon. Her's husband called later, saying that his wife had been taken to the hospital and passed away.

She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ!

Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps she would be with us today. Some stroke victims don't die, they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this.......

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke . . . totally. He said the trick was having a stroke recognized, diagnosed and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE:

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking 3 simple
questions:

S - SMILE - ask the individual to smile
T - TALK - to speak a simple sentence coherently, i.e., "It is sunny out today."
R - RAISE BOTH ARMS - above the head

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue . if the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

If he or she has trouble with any one of these tasks, call 999 immediately! & describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this email sends it to 10 people, you can bet at least 1 life will be saved!!!

Don't buy/eat 'ready-cut' fruits sold in the streets/towns/anywhere (email)

AIDS spreads like this also.....so be carefull when you buy 'ready-cut' fruits....................

A 10 year old boy, had eaten pineapple about 15 days back, and fell sick, from the day he had eaten. Later when he had his health check done... doctors diagnosed that he had AIDS. His parents couldn't believe it... Then the entire family under went a checkup... none of them suffered from Aids. So the doctors checked again with the boy if he had eaten out...The boy said "yes". He had eaten pineapple that evening. Immediately a group from Mallya hospital went to the pineapple vendor to check. They found the pineapple seller had a cut on his finger while cutting the pineapple , his blood had spread into the fruit. When they had his blood checked...the guy was suffering from AIDS.... but he himself was NOT aware.Unfortunately the boy is suffering from it now.

Please take care while u eat on the road side.

A Cancer Killer In The Kitchen (email)

The powerful healing effects of ginger have been well documented. It's a proven remedy for upset stomach. Reams of studies show that it inhibits inflammation. And there is substantial evidence that it fights cancer too.

For instance, a recent study showed that when ginger was added to ovarian cancer cells in the laboratory, it caused the cancer cells to self-destruct (a process known as "apoptosis"). In a separate study, researchers injected colon cancer cells into mice that were bred to have no immune system. Half of these mice were routinely fed gingerol, the main active component in ginger. The researchers found that the mice that were fed gingerol lived longer, their tumors were smaller, and the cancer did not spread as widely as in the control group.

With all these health benefits, you should be using ginger as often as you can. The best way I've found to get a healthy serving of ginger is to juice it. (The brand of juicer I use is an Omega.) Two or three days a week, you can juice an apple or two, some carrots, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, and a big piece of ginger root. The ginger will give the drink a great flavor and a powerful anti-cancer kick. It's highly recommend !

Give it a try !

Taking Pills with Warm Water is Dangerous...(email)

Most people when they're suffering from flu commonly consume Capsulated tablets with warm water, not knowing whether the pill would safely reach the stomach. This could be serious and perhaps you should consider proper ways of swallowing pills.

Doctors Advice:

* Pills can be taken singly by using cold water. After swallowing, a person should drink a lot more water.

* Take your pills 30 minutes before you go to bed, don't go straight to bed immediately after taking pills.

Incident:

One day a guy took some antibiotics and for not drinking enough water to flush it straight down to the stomach, the pill was lodged on the food tract and caused an inflammation. For six days he could only take cold milk and water-soluble food and was hospitalized for five days. The Doctor
warned that should it get any worse, an ulcer in the intestine may result. So please exercise caution.

When taking medicine in pill or capsule form: * DO NOT use warm or hot water / fruit juice / all kinds of sweet drinks to wash down the medicine.

* The right way is to down it with cold water. If you feel discomfort in the throat after taking a pill, drink lots of water or cold milk. Stand or sit straight when you take your pill and do not lie immediately.

DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter? (email)

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the
same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other
foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because
they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of
other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for
less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in trans fatty acids.

Triple risk of coronary heart disease.

Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and
lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY
INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and
anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing
the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area.

Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:
* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should
tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional
value; nothing will grow on it Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will
not find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt
your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Cancerous Food/Products (email)

SATAY LOVERS

If you all eat satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.

But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the satay because satay has carsinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carsinogenic.

So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have satays.

PRAWNS & VIT C

DO NOT
eat shrimp/Prawn if you have just taken VITAMIN C pills!!

This will cause you to DIE in ARSENIC (As) toxication within HOURS!!

PORK AWARENESS

Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes with your "Bak Kut Teh" for those who love it. Most men love to eat this so watch out before it's too late.

If you pours Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it.

A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about the Bad effects of pork consumption. Pig's bodies contain MANY TOXINS, WORMS and LATENT DISEASES.

Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other pigs. INFLUENZA (flu) is one of the MOST famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is haboured in the LUNGS of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and human in the cooler months.

Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc.

Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage.

Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork.

Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.

SHAMPOO

Cancer-causing substance in Shampoo. Go home and check your shampoo.

Change before it's too late... Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see they have a substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos; manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap.

BUT the fact is, SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong!!! It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Shampoos that contains SLS : Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, the new Hemp Shampoo from Body Shop etc contain this substance.

The first ingredient listed (which means it is the single most prevalent ingredient) in Clairol's Herbal Essences is Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

Therefore, I called one company, and I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer. They said, Yeah we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it because we need that substance to produce foam.

By the way Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the "bubbles". They said they are going to send me some information.

Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. Therefore, I hope that you will take this seriously and pass this on to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop "giving" ourselves cancer-causing agents.

INSTANT NOODLES

Dear instant noodle lovers,

Make sure you break for at least 3 days after one session of instant noodles before you eat your next packet!

Please read the info shared to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than 5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking.

If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.

Wantan noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles, notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water before cooking them in hot water again. This process is

Repeated several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together.

The hawker then "lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry.

Cooking instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Otherwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti!

There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to 2 days to clear the wax.

There was also an SIA steward who after moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has since died from it.

Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as " cancer noodles ".
